Video Game Room Tournaments:
GENERAL RULES FOR ALL TOURNAMENTS
  • Signup for all tournaments is online pre-convention ONLY or at the convention ONLY on the same day of EACH INDIVIDUAL tournament.
  • Signups for all tournaments at the convention are in the Console Gaming Room
  • *All tournaments are $5 each to enter
  • *All tournament entries are non-negotiable or refundable.
  • *Once the money has been accepted for the tournament(s) there are no refunds. So please be sure to stay close to the area or let the staff know that you have left and will return shortly.
  • *When you're name is called for your match you have 5 minutes to show up or you are disqualified.
  • All games will be played on the default settings, unless otherwise specified, below.
  • All macros available via the in-game controller configuration menu are allowed.
  • Hardware programmable input entry, rapid-fire, or other hardware assisted mechanisms are strictly forbidden.
  • Accidentally pausing the game at any time during the fight will force you to forfeit the round.
  • Any player using "Random Select" to pick their character, must "Random Select" again if they win the match, provided that there is no way to pick a certain character in the random box.
  • You must provide your own controller for games played on all systems.
  • Brook Converters are allowed.
  • Cronus Max Plus and Titan One converters are banned.
  • Nintendo 3DS, 2DS, or WiiU gamepad as gamepads are not allowed.
  • Removing the battery or otherwise disabling these controllers is NOT OK. You may not use these controllers under any circumstances.
  • There is a maximum of 30 seconds allowed between games in a set.
  • Players must report to the Bracket Organizer or the Tournament Director(s)/Organizer(s) once any game has completed to document the results of the match.
  • If there is a rule violation that did not take place in game must be reported before the next game or it will be ignored.
  • Any draw matches must be played again.
  • Collusion of any kind with your competitors is considered cheating. If the Tournament Organizer determines that any competitor is colluding to manipulate the results or intentionally underperforming, the collaborating players may be immediately disqualified. This determination is to be made at the sole discretion of the Tournament Director. Anyone disqualified in this manner forfeits all rights to any titles or prizes they might have otherwise earned for that tournament.
  • Tournament Director has a zero tolerance policy toward violence, threats of violence, and any other forms of threats or intimidation. Any threat of violence, extreme intimidation, or violence of any kind will result in an immediate and lifetime ban.
  • *All tournament participants are to be respectful to the Bracket Organizers, the Tournament Director(s)/Organizer(s), and each other. If it is discovered you are being disrespectful to staff or other participants you will be disqualified from any game(s) you are participating in and removed from the event.

  • Game Settings: 2 Stock, 6 Minutes, Custom Moves Off, Items Off, Equipment Off, Handicap Off, Pause Off, Damage Ratio 1.0x, 2/3 Games
  • Allowed Controllers: Nintendo Gamecube controller, Wii U Pro controller (battery removed method with USB), and Wii Remote variation (player MUST remove battery upon completion of set or will be disqualified)
  • Mii Fighters On (1-1-1-1 Default Guest Miis)
  • Amiibo's are banned.
  • Stages: Battlefield [Dream Land 64], Final Destination [Midgar, Suzaku Castle and Wily Castle], Lylat Cruise, Smashville, Town & City
  • First stage is decided by (Rock Paper Scissors) best of 1. Winner may choose to either strike a stage first or select a port first. Stages are struck in a P1-P2-P2-P1 order.
  • Following stages decided by winner striking one stage from all stages and then loser choosing.
  • Winning player is not locked into the same character for the next match, but has to pick before loser selects character.
  • You may not pick the last stage you have previously won on during the set unless mutually agreed to.
  • You may not play on a stage that is not on the available stages list. This will result in a double disqualification.
  • If a game ends with a self-destruct move, the results screen will determine the winner.
  • Sudden Death with tied percentage/stock will result in a 1 stock/3 minutes playoff match.
  • There will be no loading anything on to the tournament consoles.
